
Our Masterclass programme started some 8 years ago. We were asked by clients to put together presentations on marketing communications topics to help them train their marketing staff. The first Masterclass was on the subject of Creative Briefing. Incredibly, there was no formalised training available on this subject. Client personnel ‘learned’ on the job how to brief work to agencies. Briefs were often highly subjective and had little rigour or systematic analysis attached to them.
At this stage, we decided to run the Masterclasses as stand-alone events. Free half-day sessions were offered both in hotels and in-house at Herriard. The knowledge and experience within our team has allowed us to create an ever-increasing programme of topics and we’ve compressed a pretty impressive portfolio of marcoms knowledge into a series of concise, highly topical seminars.
Typically each interactive session is for small groups of 12. Each session contents techniques, examples and interactive exercises. Most Masterclasses are presented by two or more instructors. Every Masterclass attendee receives either a ‘book of the film’ or the presentation contents on CD plus other useful tools and articles.
Masterclasses are one way for us to demonstrate our expertise and reach out to a wider client base. They are focussed to maximise the return on your time and are aimed at marketing professionals who want to know more about improving customer loyalty and profitability whilst understanding how agencies work and how they can help you sell more.
Many of our clients first came into contact with us through attending a Masterclass. They were impressed with the professional and friendly atmosphere at our sessions – impressed enough to invite us to visit them after the event to talk through marcoms challenges. Attendance at one of our sessions allows client marketers to network with their peers - to join other top marketing professionals and gain key business insights.
As well as these stand-alone sessions we still offer our extensive experience as in-house marketing training for clients. All Masterclasses can be personalised to clients’ specific needs and delivered in-house at client premises or at other locations to suit the client’s needs and budgets.
All of Open Sky’s Masterclasses can be adapted for client’s specific needs and delivered to group from 5 to 25 people. We charge for taking the Masterclasses to client premises but they represent outstanding value per head.
